Avondale

Avondale is on the Northwest Side of the Chicago. The northern border is Addison Street, from the north branch of the Chicago River in the east to Pulaski Road in the west. Its southern border is Diversey Avenue. The Blue Line El train runs through Avondale with stops at Belmont and Addison. The Kennedy Express also runs through Avondale so there are lot of transportation options. Along Milwaukee Ave there are lots of smaller local stores with everything from Thrift Stores and boutiques to the Insect Asylum. Several great bars and restaurants call Milwaukee Ave home too. Avondale is also home to the only Portillo’s on the northwest side and the only Olive Garden in the city, all along the Addison shopping district. Avondale was ranked the 16 the coolest neighborhood in the world in 2022 by Time Out Magazine.
